So the BIG IDEA was to become the next GAP SWINGS ad...

I hadn’t told a lot of folks about this (yeah, right) Well, I didn’t post about it because I didn’t want to fail miserably. And technically, I didn’t but I couldn’t help but be a bit disappointed.

I had an audition of sorts to be in a Dove deodorant television advert. (The beauty products - not the ice cream bar – mmmmmm, luscious dark chocolate in ma armpits…) That was a yet another bit of luck on my part. I was doing some street marketing with a guy who referred me into a market research dilly – that was ACTUALLY the audition.

I was my cute adorable self for the interview in front of a video camera. They asked what it was I did every day that made me sweat. Of course I answered, “Swing dancing!” Told him I was at Fizz every Monday dancing for the last three years ‘cause I’m “hardcore.” *lick first finger and pinky; wax down eyebrows* ( see I so shoulda done that in the audition) The guy running it said they were going to keep my audition on file b/c they were always on the look out for Asian actresses. Then I made it to the next cut of 20 girls. My referral dude had the inside scoop telling me they were looking for 6 girls. Well, I didn’t make the final cut. I prolly was TOO hardcore for them.

Either way I figured it wouldn’t hurt to have my portfolio/pictures on file ‘cause yeah I’d like to be paid for just lookin’ the part. So bartered massage sessions for a photo session…. Then back to Lily’s agency and we’ll see what happens…

But the ads are up now and I wanna kinda cry ‘cause I really really wanted to be sweating and swing dancing on national TV.
