It reminds me of the movie we saw on the plane coming back from Delhi called "Swing Vote" -- essentially it's about a loser dad (Kevin Costner) whose politically savvy 3rd grade daughter decides to vote for him when he doesn't show up to the pole. BUT! Just as she's submitting her dad's ballot, the electricity goes out and the vote isn't counted. As the votes are counted across the country, it turns out the election comes down to one county, one city, and finally to this one vote that wasn't counted. So the rest of the movie is about the two president hopefuls seducing this guy to vote for him while his daughter gets increasingly appalled by her father's lack of concern for the task he has to do.
At any rate, despite starring Kevin Costner, this actually was a cute movie. Definitely appealed to my cynicism, as we were coming back to the States and we knew we would be bombarded with election craziness.
